McCain’s Negative Ad Against Obama

I’m glad McCain included the option to press yes or no. Because it turns out that the right answer is "yes." Except that there’s no good reason for a President Obama to meet with Ahmadinejad, since the latter leader isn’t really responsible for Iran’s foreign policy. He’s just a conveniently anti-semitic boogey man. But if Amadinejad didn’t exist, we’d probably invent him.
What would actually happen in such a potentially dangerous event as “talking to you enemies” is that the US State Department officials would meet (yes, without precondition) with their bureaucratic counterparts in Iran. If a deal was reached, Obama and Iran’s current Ayotola might meet. But only if there was something for both sides to gain by the public joint appearance. That means either a deal, or the appearance of some sort of detente.
The last item is what McCain and the neocons fear most. Because how can you unilaterally start a moronic and detrimental preemptive war against people who are simply acting in their own narrow self interest vs. the insane megalomaniacs we accuse them of being.
