It also seems pretty clear BushCo decided that war with Iran was the only way out of the hole they’ve dug, and/or into the new world order they proclaim. Whether operations are beginning now, or will wait for some pretend diplomacy is not clear. But it seems that from a political point of view, Bush would have more support in Congress before the midterm elections than after. And if the country falls back to a mindless “support the troops” mentality, he’s home free for two more years. It could be more bullshit WMD intelligence or it could be an act of terrorism they blame on Iran.

The only thing I can hope for is that this time, we won’t let BushCo get away with it. Now is the time for Congress to reaffirm its sole constitutional power to declare war. Once the bombs start falling, it’s a little late to remove the two criminals in chief and say “oops, our bad.”
