Leaving the Doors Open

Here’s some more information
on what kinds of door locks are more secure than what you probably have at home and why.

YouTube - Bump keying
Key Bumping is a technique that can apparently open any standard key lock with a generic key and a small mallot or the back of a screwdriver. It works by bumping the first pin in the lock, causing it to knock the adjacent ones into the open position. Video shows it working in action.

I’m not sure if insurance companies in the US are as bad as they claim in the video. But if the IC claims you left your door open (there is no evidence of a break-in), then they can reportedly deny your claim as well.
